Gulf Storm Isaac Watch

To the UHCL Community:

Gulf Storm Isaac (now a Tropical Storm) has entered the Gulf of Mexico.  It is expected to make landfall early Wednesday morning as a Category 1 Hurricane in Louisiana (New Orleans area).  Computer models show the likelihood of the storm hitting the Houston/Galveston region as low, but there is still the possibility.  The UHCL Police Department maintains communication with the Texas Department of Emergency Management and will be monitoring the storm.  If Isaac changes course towards us, you will be notified and provisions will be made to safeguard campus and the UHCL community.

Please remember, when there is a school closure an email will be sent out and depending on the nature of the closure, so will text alerts.  In addition, the UHCL Information Hotline (281-283-2221) will be updated if there is a change t campus operational status.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at policechief@uhcl.edu.
